The history
The history of Cisowianka mineral water began in 1979 when it was first extracted from water‑bearing deposits. Its name comes from the “Cisy” health resort invented by writer Stefan Żeromski and described in his “Ludzie Bezdomni” (“Homeless people”) novel.

At first, Cisowianka mineral water was available only in the Lublin region, where it quickly became very popular.
At that time, the greatest asset of the people’s republic was coal, which was even dubbed “the black gold”. Cisowianka mineral water was regarded so good that the coal-producing Silesia gladly accepted it in return for its coal shipments.
In Silesia, Cisowianka quickly became very fashionable and in high demand. The working people of Silesia liked it so much that it soon became a scarce commodity, which was sold off immediately after being delivered to shops. It often happened that a gift of a bottle of Cisowianka would “enable” many previously unfeasible operations.

The beginning of the 21st century opened a golden era for Cisowianka, as it became very popular and loved throughout Poland. Now, consumer can enjoy it also abroad, as Cisowianka Perlage is dynamically entering foreign markets. The famous blue bottles are available in as many as 20 countries around the world, and already have their devoted fans on the Arabian Peninsula, where buyers customarily go for luxury products and choose only the best.
What makes Cisowianka stand out is its special focus on meeting customers’ expectations. The world is moving fast and the consumers’ needs are changing but our point is to keep up with the changes. Hence the diversity of our mineral waters: from elegant small bottles of Cisowianka Perlage through handy sports bottles, to cans and other types of packaging. Cisowianka is the water for everyone, and for all possible occasions.

NAŁĘCZÓW ZDRÓJ
Those who drive through the charming countryside to Nałęczów Zdrój, where the producer of Cisowianka water is based, are surely surprised by the view which suddenly opens in front of their eyes: a huge, modern production plant sits amidst rolling hills, with all its buildings well-integrated into the landscape. And one additional amazing feature is that it is very quiet there, as the machines are practically inaudible, with no engine whirrs and no noise coming from the turbines.

The Cisowianka bottling plant is one of the most modern in Europe. Is sits exactly on top of deposits of natural mineral water, which are 100 metres below. This commendable location is very important since otherwise, if the water had to be transported by long pipes, undesirable substances might penetrate it.
As many as eight bottling lines (some for glass and some for cans) are located there, under one roof. The production hall is over 20,000 m2 big and before the workers can access it, they have to pass through special ultra-modern cleansing rooms so that not even the smallest bit of pollen or dust can find its way into the production hall. The temperature in the hall never changes, the pressure is kept high, and the space is constantly ventilated. This is due to the fact that at all stages of the bottling process the water has absolutely no contact with any chemicals – hence the special procedures to ensure that it is perfectly clean.

Throughout the bottling process, the safety of the water is ensured by a highly advanced lab. Pallets of bottled water are moved to a high-storage warehouse equipped with its own stock management system. The warehouse has a dozen or so loading docks from which lorries transport the water to the shops.
Just add to this the unique Water&Wine restaurant concept and stylish offices (which are decorated in a minimalistic yet very elegant style), and you have a complete picture of one of the most modern plants in Europe, which at the same time communicates well with the surrounding nature.
Local activities
As proven by its many activities, Cisowianka shows its strong commitment to the local community and the place of its origin, basing on its rich history and the spa tradition.
THE HERITAGE
Towards the end of 2017, the Nałęczów Zdrój Group became the new owner of the historic Małachowski Palace. How should a good host proceed? Well, they should fix whatever needs fixing. That was the exact reason why the Group has undertaken a full renovation of the Palace, which means bringing it back to its former splendour, e.g. by restoring the rich decorations of the interiors and on the external façade (while of course keeping the original elements). After all, it is the place where Bolesław Prus wrote one of his greatest novels, “Lalka” (“The Doll”), and Ignacy Jan Paderewski used to play concerts. In this way, the Group cherishes the tradition of the region and wants to promote the spa. The Palace, which has been given a new life, will be used by tourists and the local community, and will be, at the same time, a reminder of the time of prosperity and splendour of the climatic health resort of Nałęczów.

Another goal which the Nałęczów Zdrój Group has set for itself is restoring the former glory of another historical place in Nałęczów, the “Uciecha” villa. The aim is to transform it into a “gem” on the European spa map for tourists. “Uciecha” is a stylish villa erected between 1903-1907 according to the design by Stanisław Thiele, the then-administrator of the Healing Institution. Now, the villa is over 110 years old but it still has great potential and undoubtedly deserves another chance. The Nałęczów Zdrój Group is carrying out a general renovation of the villa, while maintaining its original character, and acting in close cooperation with the historic buildings conservator’s office.
LOCAL COMMUNITY
JADWIGOWO
With the local community in mind, the Nałęczów Zdrój Group has undertaken renovation work of the “Jadwigowo” centre. This is a place meant for educational programmes for local residents, with particular focus on the youngest ones, who deserve a comfortable space. Training, courses and workshops for children and young people will take place here. The Group wants to act together with the Nałęczów Cultural Centre, the Nałęczów Municipality Office, the Friends of Nałęczów Association and other local organisations, to develop an innovative educational programme which will support the local community. Since education equals development, it is worth supporting education – if one feels for the others, that is. And this is exactly what is happening!

KS CISOWIANKA DRZEWCE
In August 2020, the Nałęczów Zdrój Group became a titular sponsor of the Sports Club from Drzewce. Due to its long-lasting tradition, the Club plays a very important role in the lives of local residents. Since then, the football club has been officially re-named the Cisowianka Drzewce Sports Club and receives financial resources for e.g. expanding sport activities, purchasing new equipment, maintenance of the current infrastructure, organizing matches, as well as supporting year-round training of all football sections. Right from the beginning, the Club’s mission has been to bring together whole families from Drzewce and surrounding communities, with football as the centrepiece of the activities. This strategic cooperation is not one-off but has been planned for years to come.
Other social activities
For years, the Nałęczów Zdrój Group has also been supporting a volunteer fire brigade (OSP), which is yet another organization of vital importance to the life of local community. This should come as no surprise, as the Drzewce voluntary fire brigade has been actively involved not only in emergency aid activities but also in the daily life of the village since its establishment in 1900. The firefighters used to organize local dance parties, puppet theatre shows for children, and were the initiators of founding the Sports Club. As part of the support from the Nałęczów Zdrój Group, the firefighters from Drzewce have received, among other things, specialist rescue equipment which comes indispensable when helping casualties of traffic accidents. The Group also supports another regional firefighting unit – the “OSP Nałęczów”, whose origins date back to 1899 (they have been donated e.g. special uniforms). Also, the local police unit receives support from the Nałęczów Zdrój Group.

ECOLOGY
The area surrounding the Nałęczów health resort is famous not only for its exceptional climate, but also for its splendid farmland qualities. Since the local soil has so much to offer, the Nałęczów Zdrój Group wants to preserve the agricultural traditions of the region by cultivating ecological crops, while preserving their regional character.

Since the local soil has so much to offer, the Nałęczów Zdrój Group wants to preserve the agricultural traditions of the region by cultivating ecological crops, while preserving their regional character.
It is connected with the planned opening of a very special bakery close to the Nałęczów railway station, in a building which originally belonged to the Fruit Cooperative (which started in 1940 and had a huge significance for the region). The bakery will bake bread from grains coming from old varieties, such as emmer whit and einkorn wheat, as well as from those obtained through natural cultivation of rye and spelt. The ambition of the Nałęczów Zdrój Group is to restore the cultivation of these original grain varieties in its vicinity.
Fertile soils and the characteristic climate make the land around Nałęczów an excellent place for growing vine. Therefore, the Nałęczów Zdrój Group has decided to continue the tradition of the Drzewce Estate Vineyard, which was first mentioned in 1252 (when the Drzewcza Mount was mentioned as owned by the Benedictine Abbey from Sieciechów). Now, the part with the vineyard belongs to the Nałęczów Zdrój Group and the ambition of the new owner is to create a winery which will become a production base for one of the largest vineyards in Poland. The plans also include refurbishment of the granary, which dates back to 1886, and of the manor house (“rządcówka”). Around the winery there will be satellite farms producing organic fruit, vegetables, and honey.
